Restart a Heart Day
Only one in ten survive cardiac arrest. We can beat that, and that’s what World Restart a Heart Day is about.
I’d like to make sure you know how you can help make the day successful this year.
On October 16th, thousands of resuscitation trainers around the world will take part in a coordinated effort to teach life-saving cardiopulmonary skills to as many people as we can.
Resus Nelson attended Nelson Saturday Market to raise awareness for the up-and-coming “Restart a Heart Day.” The local shoppers also had an opportunity to practice CPR skills and use an AED.
We are attending our local Nelson Intermediate School to teach 250 kids and teachers CPR and the safe use of an AED.
To finish this long week of great training, we are attending a local primary school, Nelson Central School, teaching year 6 kids and teachers with a fun CPR ambulance race, Check out our Facebook page for photos of these great events.
Kids are our future, and we must invest our time and effort in teaching them fundamental lifesaving skills. To have the confidence to callĀ an ambulance in an emergency or to instruct an adult to start CP
If you are keen for your kids to learn more, please book one of our courses: either our Child and Infant Emergency Care course, which is great for babysitters to gain confidence in dealing with emergencies or a Basic Life Support course.
