General Practitioners
The GP College has recently updated its Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) requirements to ensure all resuscitation training aligns with best practice standards set by the Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) and the New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC).
Key Changes:
- From 1 June 2025, all ACLS training must be NZRC CORE Immediate or above, with a minimum of six hours of contact time, including an assessment.
In response to these changes, Resus Nelson Ltd is committed to supporting local GPs by offering regular NZRC CORE Advanced courses (CPD points =12). Completing this course will fully meet the new ACLS requirements set by the GP College.

Scenario Training
We also deliver practice-based scenarios, supporting the general practice team in responding appropriately within your workplace to an emergency situation, aiming to improve patient care.
RNZCGP CORNERSTONE
Scenario training fulfills the RNZCGP Cornerstone requirements for:
Indicator 18.5: conducting annual emergency drills to improve their response to medical emergencies,
Indicator 23: prioritising urgent health needs
Indicator 22: on the Foundation Standard: Identifying and responding to patients with clinically urgent health needs.
